Abstract
This dissertation investigates the adaptability and efficacy of menstrual cups in comparison to sanitary napkins, focusing on user comfort, environmental sustainability, and menstrual health outcomes. Through a comprehensive analysis involving both quantitative and qualitative data, the study reveals that menstrual cups not only provide a higher level of user satisfaction—attributed to their comfort and reduced leakage—compared to traditional sanitary napkins but also present significant environmental benefits, notably lower waste generation. Statistical analysis indicates that users of menstrual cups reported a 30% higher satisfaction rate and a substantial reduction in menstrual product-related environmental impact over a typical menstrual cycle. These findings underscore the importance of promoting alternative menstrual hygiene products within healthcare practices, suggesting that increased awareness and education regarding menstrual cups could contribute to improved menstrual health outcomes and greater environmental sustainability. The implications of this study extend to public health policy, emphasizing the need for integration of eco-friendly options into menstrual health education initiatives, thereby encouraging a shift towards better-informed choices that cater to user comfort and ecological considerations. By highlighting the comparative advantages of menstrual cups, this research paves the way for greater acceptance and utilization of sustainable menstrual products, potentially influencing both individual consumer behavior and wider healthcare practices.
