Abstract

This dissertation investigates the efficacy of Ayurvedic and modern treatments in managing Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), addressing the critical issue of treatment success rates and patient outcomes. Through a comparative analysis that synthesizes quantitative data derived from clinical trials and patient surveys, alongside qualitative insights from patient interviews and treatment assessments, the study reveals that Ayurvedic approaches yield comparable, and at times superior, outcomes in symptom management and overall patient satisfaction when contrasted with conventional treatments. Specifically, data indicates a higher success rate in long-term relief of IBS symptoms among patients opting for Ayurvedic remedies, highlighting the importance of a holistic approach to healthcare. These findings underscore the potential for integrating alternative treatment modalities into mainstream medical practice, advocating for a more inclusive understanding of effective IBS management.
