Abstract
Ivan Magill’s, the Father of endotracheal anaesthesia, and Joun Lundy’s development of balanced anaesthesia were significant milestones that paved the way for modern anesthesia practices.Controlled ventilation techniques have indeed become a cornerstone of anesthesisa care, allowing for safer and more effective management of patients undergoing surgery. The stress response during tracheal extubation can indeed trigger significant hemodynamic changes, posing risks for hypertensive patients and those with CVD. The study was undertaken to compare the effect of Propofol and Lignocaine in attenuating cardiovascular responses during extubation as compared to controls.
