Abstract
The Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) is a concept introduced in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 of India. It is a digital repository that aims to provide a system for storing and transferring academic credits earned by students. Under the NEP 2020, the Academic Bank of Credits is designed to be a flexible and learner-centric platform. It allows students to accumulate academic credits for courses they have completed, regardless of the institution or university where they pursued those courses. These credits can then be transferred and counted towards the completion of a degree program or certification at any other higher education institution. Credits obtained by undertaking Courses in Registered HEIs during or after the academic year 2021-2022 alone are eligible for Credit transfer, Credit accrual and credit redemption through academic bank of credits. The present paper explores the innovative concept and potential implications of the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) in higher education.
