AN INVESTIGATORY STUDY ON NONINTENSIVE TREATMENTS FOR RESTLESS LEGS SYNDROME

Abstract

This dissertation investigates the efficacy and safety of nonintensive treatments for Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS), addressing the critical gap in understanding alternative therapeutic options beyond traditional pharmacological interventions. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, the study incorporates both qualitative and quantitative data, including patient-reported outcomes and treatment adherence rates, alongside a comparative analysis of various nonintensive treatment modalities such as lifestyle changes, cognitive behavioral therapy, and physical interventions. The findings reveal that certain nonpharmacological strategies significantly improve patient-reported outcomes and enhance adherence to treatment, suggesting that these approaches can alleviate symptoms as effectively as conventional medications for many individuals. The research highlights the necessity of incorporating nonintensive treatments into standard care protocols for RLS, thereby expanding the therapeutic landscape available to patients.
