Abstract
The development of two or more than two foetuses simultaneously in a pregnant uterus is called multiple pregnancy in which twins are most common. Upcoming artificial reproductive methods has played a major role for its increasing prevalence. Multiple pregnancies are associated with significantly higher maternal and foetal complications compared to singleton pregnancies, and they require rigorous evaluation and tailored management throughout the prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum periods.
